Conversion of visonysAirlock 3.5 licences
Why do I need a new license?
On x86 systems with Intel or AMD processors, the host ID is emulated by software and newly generated for each Solaris installation. We have therefore decided to change the identification process from using the host ID to using the MAC address of the first network interface. This means that a new license key is required for the upgrade to Release 4.x.
How do I order the new license?
Send us the existing 3.5 license and the MAC address by filling out the form below and we will shortly e-mail your new license key to you.
Where can I find the MAC address?
Which MAC address shall I give?
If possible, use the Ethernet address of the first on-board network interface, which can often be found on the invoice or even printed on the computer casing. The command ifconfig –a supplies the MAC addresses of all the interfaces (login per ssh as root). After having upgraded to visonysAirlock 4.0, a list of the MAC addresses may be found at the Configuration Center under ‘Summary’. A MAC address is composed of 6 bytes in hexadecimal notation, usually separated by colons (or dashes), e.g. 00:03:ba:13:29:d3. Zeros in front positions may be omitted: e.g. 0:3:ba:13:29:d3.
