Dr. Wieland Alge
Chairman
Wieland has been serving as CEO for phion since April 2004 and is responsible for Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Services and Technology Operations. Wieland Alge held different senior management positions at phion and has several years of experience in sales, strategy and technology in the field of IT-security / connectivity. He was a major contributor to the development of the netfence product and was in charge of product and market strategy. At SIZE GmbH, a precursor of phion, he was a founder and managing director. Prior to founding SIZE, Wieland Alge and Klaus Gheri jointly built and operated one of the earliest low-cost parallel computing Linux cluster at the University of Innsbruck, (Austria). Wieland holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Innsbruck.
Günter Klausner
Director
Günter is responsible for finance, administration and human resources with phion. Prior to joining phion as CFO in March 2005, he held several senior management positions for international companies where he was responsible for project management, controlling and accountancy as well as corporate strategy. Günter Klausner was also a senior consultant for the KTW group and since 1999 has his own consulting enterprise. Günter holds an MA in Business Administration from the University of Innsbruck (Austria) and is accredited Basel-II and certified export consultant.
Dr. Klaus Gheri
Director
Klaus is responsible for overall Product Management and Strategic Business Development with phion. Klaus Gheri was instrumental in the design and development of phion netfence and phionOS in particular. He has extensive experience in Linux software development and in the management of Linux clusters.
He joined phion as a University Reader/Associate Professor for Theoretical Physics at the University of Innsbruck (Austria), where he specialised in research on quantum communication and numerical simulations of quantum systems.Klaus holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Auckland (New Zealand).
Peter Affolter
Director
Peter Affolter has 17 years of business experience in European companies in various functions. His last position was with Eurotax, the leading information provider in the automotive industry, where Peter Affolter has been CTO for several years. Today he is a business angel with several startup companies.
